A Mí Aire  (Revista Musica Cubana)

"A Mi Aire " is an expression that appears in a chorus of one of the songs of Paulo FG. This sentence hit so much in the people that ended up being one of the first ones in the hit parade of the popular expressions, among the many that constantly are presents in the daily speech. "For me - Paulo says - it means to be comfortable, calm, in peace with my conscience, sure that I am making the things well. It is to be to according with myself, ino tone with my ideas and interests. And I always act in this way "

When forming his own orchestra more than ten years ago, Paulo FG began one of the most solid and brilliant careers in a Cuban artist of dancing popular music of the end of the XX century .. A good exit made him reach the success immediately, and next the success was everytime with him, rewarding in this way always its efforts. "The road that i follow to walk was the most difficult. I arrived to the music without having a wide knowledge on her; my family was not inside the musical atmosphere, so i have not contacts in this world. I entered, simply, with the heart and with a vocation to sing that I defended. I got ready in a self taught way more than I could, I noticed those that have had an academic formation and, mainly, I listened to the other ones".

Paulo FG is one of the most current Cuban music's versatile singers. He interprets the salsa music in outstanding forms, either in his soft, romantic slope, or in his strong version (the timba), at the time he "walks" with his voice very well for goods like the bolero, the ballad, the ranchera and the pop music.

"I believe that my biggest force, my biggest wealth, is into surrender in body and soul to the songs and to connect me with people."

"The success is the result of the work - Paulito says - because I have achieved that people could love me, handling them with responsibility, without it stimulates in me my "ego", and I value them in their deep human aspect. The success is something that few obtain and that I have conquered as person, it is a treasure that I try not to lose. It's Important for me the relationship that I reach with people, the affection that I give and that I receive, that which enriches my soul. To the success I arrive for the respect with which I have always worked for the public, and for the permanent desire that I have in satisfying those who comes to my concerts or listen my recordings. It didn't drop from the sky"

The compass of the success: the professional rigor   (Revista Tropicana Cuba )

The searches and the cardinal points of Paulito have for compass the rigor. It is demanding with his time because every proposal, is a disk or a concert, it spends time an and another time for the implacable sieve of his evaluation. It could be be that Paulito preparing a phonogram and to the last minute perceives that a theme doesn't suit him for the spirit of the disk and then replaces him for the fit one although this supposes additional working times. Or that one of his concerts both a success of public and criticism and that nevertheless he watch one time and another time the videotape that invariably makes of his presentations to study it up to the tiredness and "to clean" his realizations with the patience of goldsmith.
Paulito appears as a versatile musician, desirous and prepared the same time to interpret a ballad with air rock or a bolero to the new custom. A luxury this that it can afford because its voice is of a lot of strength in the acute ones and has besides a very special sound .

A very personal sound

"... Without doubts some, We have hardly worked for coining a sound , a personality.

In the music for dancers the first thing is the rhythm, although I give the priority to the "tumbao" of the plan with the "bajo". But there will be always something of magic, of spell, that i try to incorporate for engraving a special touch to our pieces. The inspiration born when one experiments and it looks for new forms. I have to be as I am: spontaneous. And so they accept me..."
